Privacy Policy

This policy is to ensure that my terms are easier to understand and to keep up with evolving
international data privacy standards – the UK’s Data Protection Act 2018 specifically the
General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), which aim to give you control over your data
and make it clear how I use your data.


In brief, the guiding principles and highlights of the policy are:

  1. It is your data. If you don’t want me to have it, then I won’t keep it.

  2. Your data is kept secure.

  3. I don’t keep payment data.

Data Processing

Marion McGhee, trading as MyTrue Therapies, processes personal information for certain
legitimate purposes which include some, or all, of the following:

  • Keeping clients, friends, associates informed of any courses, events, activities, and fundraising campaigns;

  • Where the processing enables me to enhance, modify, personalise, or otherwise improve my services / communications for the benefit of my clients, friends and associates;

  • To provide email, and social media communication which I think will be of value to my clients, friends and associates;

  • Whenever data is processed for these purposes, I will ensure that I always keep your Personal Data Rights in high regard and take account of these rights;

  • I will never sell or share your data, I don’t retain payment information, and I promise to keep your details safe and secure. As always, you can update your preferences at any time can request to have all your data removed from my system;

  • You have the right to object if you do not want to me to use any parts of your information or to take photos including group photos.

PLEASE MAKE ANY OBJECTION CLEAR AT THE START OF ANY WORKSHOPS/GROUP
ACTIVITIES – photos to support social media advertising of workshops/events are only taken when there is Group agreement for this.

GDPR gives you the following rights:

  • The right to be informed: To know how your information will be held and used (this notice)

  • The right of access: To see your Therapist’s records of your personal information, so you know what is held about you and can verify it.

  • The right to rectification: To tell your therapist to make changes to your personal information if it is incorrect or incomplete.

  • The right to erasure: (Also called the right to be forgotten). For you to request your therapist to erase information they hold about you.

  • The right to restrict processing of personal data: You have the right to request limits onhow your therapist uses your personal information.

  • The right to object: To be able to tell your therapist you don’t want them to use certain parts of your information, or only to use it for certain purposes. Rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling.

  • The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office: to be able to complain to the ICO if you feel your details are not correct, if they are not being used in a way that you have given permission for or if they are being stored when they don’t have to be.
